Default idle adjustment

you all know sgc and who i am but anyway let me shoot this at ya guys

the moron that put the d16y8 in her car played with the idle air adjustment screw. the car has horrible idle problems now and i was wondering on some procedures on adjusting it correctly

on a different note does anyone know if the fuel tank pressure sensor is different on lx-ex civics 96-97?

The idle speed setting from my Integra Helms manual (should be basically the same for you):

Mikey's instructions are pretty much what it says in the 96-00 Civic Helm's.
D16Y8 idle speed is:
670 +/- 50rpm for a 5sp and
750 +/- 50rpm for an AT

just really unstable idle....car shakes like **** when it drops to idle speed....and generally itll idle at like a grand....once in a blue moon it actually goes down to the correct speed and when it does it just doesnt seem right

anyone know what the computer does if you take the secondary O2 sensor out of the exhaust and just leave it dangling? the moron that swapped the engine just left it out cause of the header. he said it would richen it up just a little but i really think it is too much i mean wtf a 1/4 tank to go across town

definitely too rich, did you check the spark plugs to see how rich it was running? also, you can get a set of cheap spark plugs to run in there for like a week or so, then take them out to see how rich/lean the car is running..... if the car vibrates when the idle drops too low, than that is normal, any car will shake when the idle is too low, but if it does it at like 1K it could be that a number or things got carbon build up from running too rich, how long has she been driving the car around like this?

quite a while actually...she drove it to dallas:wtf: i have found some of the problem though...the primary O2 is shot along with the vss. seems no one keeps O2s for these damn cars around here...im gonna go to honda today and see if they might have one

its not running rich enough to gas foul the plugs...i know that much, but still i think that is why the last engine blew the cyl got gas washed from this thing running rich

any clue on the fuel tank pressure sensor in doing a swap from lx-ex engine?
