Default b16a head on b18c1 block??

hey sorry if this is a dumb question cuz i dont know much about engines..i currently have a b16a and lack torque...a suggestion was made that i should get a gsr block and bolt it onto the b16a head?? what are the benefits if any of doing this?? would it be cheaper? is the b16a head different from the b18c1 head?
thanx in advance

Benefits = torque.

There's not much difference between the b18c1 and b16 heads. A little dome difference (to the tune of .3 compression ratio difference), a little cam change, and some flow sacrificed for volumetric efficiency.

Well, it would be cheaper to just buy the GSR shortblock and attach your B16 head and b16 tranny. That is what I'd do.

You could do the same thing with a b20 shortblock.
