Hey guys just a small question, i have a hole or crack in my catilatic converter and i'm wondering whats the worse it can happen? just seems like to me that i'll just be loosing back pressure and make the hole/crack bigger...and yes it does have a hole or crack cuz when i give it some gas it sounds like air is shooting out of it at fast speeds, and at high rpm and let off throttle it crackles deep and then a big POP and then its fine. Any hints on what to do... i mean soon as it gets warm out i'm sliding a pipe inside it so it looks like i still have a catilatic converter but i really won't and i'll be gaining more hp! :fawk: so any hints on what to do right now, or should i just wait? or the real question i'm wonder is, whats the worse that can happen... thanks guys!

 

well if the cat is under the car no biggie if you are gonna slide a pipe through it soon....other than emissions you wouldnt notice much. although exhaust gasses are very corrosive and you should keep that in mind....also there is usually an O2 sensor after the cat...also keep that in mind when you just defeat your cat. i hear it richens up the car a little :bs: just be careful you should be just fine

 

i have a 02 sensor before the cat and thats on my downpipe, other than that i don't believe i have one on my 91 hatch si.
