Default oil change

I have a quick question, I do my oil change every 2500 miles. I was wondering if castol syntex 10w40 was a good brand of motor oil to use. I have been using it on all my cars. i now have a 96 vtec accord, I just wanted to know what other people use. Also does anyone change the thinkness of there oil when its winter or summer.

Phat8186,
For the money, I'd get Mobil 1 instead of Syntec. If you do some oil research, especially on a site like BobIsTheOilGuy, you'll see that Syntec isn't worth what they charge.
All of our cars get Hastings filters.
For my daily driver, (1991 Civic) I use whatever is around, it's got Mobil 1 10w30 in the sump now. The wife's Civic is currently using Pennzoil High Mileage 10w30. It had a bit of piston slap that Valvoline MaxLife originally helped with, but then they changed their formula NOT to include molybdenum, which was needed by this engine. A friend suggested the Pennzoil because of it's price and moly content...it did the trick wonderfully.
The CRX get's Mobil 1 10w30.
With 10w30, there's really no need to switch to something thinner in winter around here. It doesn't usually go lower than 10 below zero.
Every 2500 miles...well, that's a bit excessive, but it's your money. I'll go 3-4 thousand on organic oil. My cars with the synth in them get changed yearly as I don't put very many miles on any more.
