b16 oil to vtec solenoid issue

Default b16 oil to vtec solenoid issue

I recently picked up a civic ek w built b16 turbo swap. Im having an issue with no oil going to the vtec solenoid. listed below are the specs on the car, any input would be greatly appreciated. My mechanic is saying its an issue with the wrong cylinder head being on there, but im curious because i assume the car was running fine at some point.
Motor/drivetrain
JG Engine dynamics Magilla Sleeved block, jdm B16a
84 mm 8.7 to 1 Cp Pistons
Eagle H beam rods W/ 3/8 inch Arp 2000 Bolts

The specs are impressive, but they don't get you closer to solving the problem.

Which head do you have?
What ECU are you running and has it been modified?

Above all, are you sure you are getting electrical power at the VTEC solenoid?
Have you checked your oil level?
Have you inspected / cleaned the screen at the VTEC solenoid?

my mechanic was on point with what he was saying. The type r head was plugged permanently where oil goes up to the vtec solenoid meaning whoever hadthe car prior definatly wasnt even hitting vtec. i got beyond lucky and he had a ported gsr head laying around that should do the job perfectly
