Default TPS adjustment help needed

I bought a brand new tps sensor for my b18c1. I put it on correctly and there is still resistance inside the sensor so I know it isn't broken. I went to go drive it after installing and when I would press on the gas, instead of going up the rpms it went down the rpms until it lobed real hard and stalled. Someone tells me it needs to be adjusted but I tried that as well. Moving it to the right a little and then tightening it and still same thing. Also to the left and same thing. Need help with this issue as I cannot drive anywhere until it is resolved. Thnx

did you take an ohm reading from your old tps before taking it off? when i did my skunk2 manifold and bored out my throttle body i had to take that sensor off as well. when i reinstalled it i got symptoms like yours and come to find out there is a particular position you are suppose to have it set at. i never got to get the reading and put it on completely perfect, but after playing with it for a while i managed to position it where i didnt have any problems.

First, I payed only 40 dollars for the tps sensor. Guaranteed to my door functional or free replacement. A guy sells them as a business, but does it off of ebay.

Second, I found that out yesterday after doing a little bit of research. You cannot just set it on the TB and just go. You have to align it up so that it is in sync with things. Well, the status on my car now is it will run, only it runs really rough. The rpms go all the way up, but there seems to be a substantional amount of performance loss. Im thinking we have the map sensor and tps sensor wires backwards. (the car harness plugs). They both come off the same harness extension, only one is a little bit longer than the other. I thought the longer one went to the tps, but we ended up hooking it the other way. Longer harness to the map and shorter to the tps. It runs now, but the motor shakes because of its rough idle. It doesn't lobe back and forth, just sounds and feels rough. Just to refresh your memory, the motor idled very smoothly when we first installed the tps without aligning it. Now, supposedly its aligned and it is very rough. But, before, it wouldn't go over 2k rpms. Is it supposed to have a rougher idle when aligned and correct or do you think I have the wires backwards? We tried switching them out really fast, and the car wouldn't crank over. But, it did this to the setup we had now, we just had to adjust the distributer and so forth. What do you think?

are you getting a CEL indication. if so. what is it coding? this will let you very easily find the problem. both of those sensors will throw codes if there are any problems.

the only code that i have ever gotten is just one. I cant find it anywhere and have double checked for the correct sequence on my dash. it is a 24. two long flashes and then 4 short ones. Ive been running so rich for so long, that i probably shot my o2 sensor. there are no other codes being thrown.

code 4 is for your TPS, and code 2 is for your 02sensor, try replacing your 02 sensor and reposition your TPS, also you have to reset your computer.. i have the same problem.. also where did you buy your TPS, i need to replaced.

did you remove the map sensor at all? if you did there is a rubber gasket underneath the sensor. if it's not there you can run very rich.

have you gotten the problem fixed?
