Default header for 97 civic

I have a 97 civic Ex with a cracked exhaust manifold. This is a great time for me to put on a header, but I can't afford to do the whole exhaust system. Can I do this or is the stock exhaust system too small a diameter to bolt onto the header. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You should be able to upgrade it w/ the stock exhaust.

any suggestions as to which header would be good. I am pretty sure I want a 4-2-1.

Personally, I would go w/ a DCSports header. Either ceramic or SS, depending on your price range.

Run away from the cheap stuff like pacesetters since they either won't bolt on correctly, or rust prematurely... plus numerous other problems.
