Default roughly, cost for B series rebuild?

This spring I would like to have my b18b rebuilt. I would provide some aftermarket parts but what is an estimated cost for a rebuild with stock internals?

And if anyone has any internal aftermarket parts suggestions for this motor running n2o set-up let me know.

$300 labor assuming you take the engine out and give it to them.

#1 get ARP rod bolts
#2 ARP head studs
#3 forged pistons
#4 Forged rods if desired.

Bearings - $200
Rings - $100
Water Pump - $75
Timing Belt - $50
Rod Bolts - $100
Main bolts - $150
Headbolts - $150
Gaskets + Seals - $300
Valve Guides - $100
Cap + rotor - $50
MMW (Miscellanious Machine Work) - $300

add forged pistons - $400
add forged rods - $400
add headwork - $500
add getting someone else to put it together - $300

its not cheap! I'm rebuilding a B18A block right now for LsVtec, and it's costing me way more than I thought. I probably even forgot some stuff. You might as well get a GsR, at least it'd be fast too then, or try and find one that is already rebuilt, they seem to sell for cheaper than it costs to rebuild one.

Labor in your area is probably similar but the last few that I built for customers averaged about $600 labor plus parts.

Bore and hone - 50
clean and prep - 50
press rods on/off pistons - 16
valve job and surface - 130
assemble - 350

BTW oem pistons/rings are about $325-350 a set

I would use forged pistons with N2O. If you add ARP bolts prepare to have the rods resized as well as the extra clamping force distorts the bore - add $15/rod plus parts. The stock rods with these bolts will handle plenty of spray as well as the crank.

I tend to avoid copper head gaskets in 99% of all applications as they leak and you need to make sure the coolant holes are set up right to avoid overheating. Stick with factory Honda/Acura parts as much as possible.
