alternator & power

Default alternator & power

if i put a switch on my alternator (so i can swith it off or on at will) would this decrease the load on the engine & increase performance & economy??

Why would you want to turn it off? Then you'll have charging and power problems.

It would be a sure way to fry the voltage regulator and charging diode...
