Default D16z Vtec OR swap? LONG POST........

A little background: I am 18. I have been wanting to get into Imports for about 2 years. I have read through magazines, articles, websites, HAN board, etc...... I bought a 95 Civic EX with some mods and am really getting ancy about really working on it!

Here's what I want out of my 95 Civic EX and I am asking you to tell me the best way to do this.
BTW, I also am on a college budget(about 2.5k a month--live at home etc..), so please respect that.

Specs:
To spent under 10k or so on ALL mods
Want to get 300 horses to the wheels(is that about what I need for sub 13 sec 1/4 times? More or less?)
Would like sub-13 sec 1/4 times
Want to have a full interior( I'll remove all seats and system when I go to the track)
Want a small sound system(1 sub 2 amps etc....)

** My main question is: Do I built up the stock D16z Vtec or do a swap? If a swap is neccecary, then what motor would be best for me thats allows me to do what I mentioned under "specs"?**

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Spike

swap.... sub 13's, i've heard of d16's doing that but only with an ass of work..... , you have a pretty nice budget, maybe b18c1 turbo, or b20 turbo.....

to get 300 hp to the wheels i'd do a swap. b18c with turbo should get you there. its gonna be pretty difficult but not impossible with the money you want to spend to get there though.

Default Thanks

I'm getting the vibe of a B18C1 with a turbo being the best? B20? Is that exspensive?

Keep the comments/idea's coming!

b20 should be around the same as b18a/b depending on where you get it.

So is the B18C1 MORE expensive than a B20Z? How bout a B20B? Do they make a USDM B20Z? BTW spike "your oppinoins motor builders" post might have some things you want to read... There is alot of info in there already. I was askin the same Q.

oh yeah the red one, with the 99-00 Si wheels. That thing has a helluva lot of tuning though. but its running full interior, and a CUTE chick owns it!

Type r motor is phat but it is played the F**k out u want to be fast for CHEAP H22a swap will only cost about 3,000 and my friend did it in a 92 civic hatch with a short ram intake and apex i N1 he runs 14.3 once you put headers cams ecu intake exhaust clutch lightwieght flywheel u should be in the 13's for about 6k trust me I went for a ride in this car and it hauls ass Plus you get crazy top end power he has beaten a s2000 and a m coupe when racing from about 50mph to about 130mph he has also brought it up to 150mph he has so much torque that if he power shifts he spins right through second and chirps 3rd really hard. plus I have a friend with a all motor 4dr gsr w/ type r head fully worked and I mean fully he runs 13.85 and I also have a friend w/ a JDM type r swap in a 93 civic coupe and it is fast but I don't have times for that. my friend w/ the prelude swap loves it and wins every race about on the street

PS a type r swap with turbo will be a lot more than 10k cause if your going to run over 6 pounds of boost you have to get new injecters pistons rings rods etc it will cost you about 15k trust me on that price cause my friend rrebuilt the bottom end his b16 plus the turbo and installation it cost him 10k just for rebuild and turbo and the first time he used it at the track he blew out a cylinder I think it was a faulty injector good thing I didn't buy those injectors off of him
