Default MSD blaster, worth it?

i am not too familiar with MSD stuffs... but i was wonder if an external coil would help increase in horsepower... or at least smooth it out? if i was to go MSD route... what components are necessary? i just want to have some power on tap ready to go and without having to wait for the lag. help please?

Generally you get an ignition control box like the 6A, Digi-6, SCI-L and also an external coil. No, you won't really see a gain of much power.

MSD stuff is best used on radical fuel system setups, beyond that, the most gain will be in ease of starting and a more regular fuel economy.
