adjusting gear ratios...

Default adjusting gear ratios...

I was talking to this mechanic recently who does ls/vtec and he has claimed that he can change out the gear ratios on ls trannys to be close to as gsr's...is that possible????

Might as well just swap the tranny, it'll be cheaper...then you can sell your LS tranny. But yes, it is possible to swap the GSR gears into an LS case, but the question is why. For $700 a good GSR tranny can be had, and then you can sell your LS for $4-500. That saves you the trouble of having to buy the GSR internals, and paying labor to swap the parts into your case....just unnecessary headache.

you can also buy final drive kits that would work with the bseries trannies

yeah but your probably not gona be able to get a fd in the 6's and that still prolly wouldnt change it enough to be worth it...

ATS makes full gearsets as well as final drives. Why would you want a FD in the 6's anyways? That is way too short for your own good.

not saying youd want.. above someone mentioned changing the final drive and i was just saying... its till not worth the costs..you might as well buy a new tranny. the cost of even switching to ats gear sets is outragous

That it is....but you can take a GSR tranny or usdm ITR tranny, throw in the JDM ITR 4.785 final drive, and the gearing will be noticeably shorter.

this i have first hand experiance with.. 2k usdm itr tranny we put in a jdm 4.7 FD... quite nice to supplement the toda c's
