95 Civic 3DR - D15B VTEC (Idle/Acceleration Problem)
Hey all...I just swapped my engine with a JDM VTEC and i seem to be having some weird problems and the mechanics around me are stumped too...I seem to know more than them and that isn't much
The car Idles erratically. It is consistent however. It sells in at idle between 800-1200 RPM When i am driving there are no issues with that but the acceleration is intense. When I shift into gear it wants to take off all hard. There seems to be no difference between barely touching the gas pedal and pushing it to the floor. So while driving if I let off the gas the car lets out real hard and wants to slow down and I guess that is normal but if I touch the gas again the car jolts so I can not hold the gas pedal to cruise. As long as i touch that pedal the car is accelerating and quickly at that.
Other noticeable things:
-The exhaust is rich with gas fumes.
-speedometer is intermittent since the swap.
-Intake is loud as hell...not like before.
Facts:
-Original throttle body installed so no adjustments made.
-New cap plugs and cables.
-Fuel filter new and clean.
-Fuel pump not replaced but fully operational.
-Throttle cable in good repair and adjusted properly.
-Firing Order Correct
-Timing in line.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!!
