Default Question about B20s.

As far as I knew, there were two B20s, the B20B and B20Z. I was under the impression that the B20Z would fit into a Civic directly, but that the B20B wouldn't, because the intake manifold stuck up too high.

Then I saw this on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1873218737

It says it's a 97 B20B. But if you scroll down and look at the pics, you can see very clearly in some of them that the intake manifold does NOT stick up at all.

Can someone straighten me out on this? Are there JDM B20Bs that have a different intake manifold than the USDM B20Bs or something?

Hmm that's weird. Maybe it's an LS manifold or something?

Regardless, I would be a bit hesitant to buy a motor from ebay. It's not a stereo or a camera or something, it's a motor. I like to talk to a human being before I make a purchase like that.

Oh I'm not interested in buying it. I was just wondering what was up, cause I've never seen an intake manifold like that on a B20 before..?

Swapped intake manifold or like a skunk2 manifold. I've seen a B20b intake manifold on a LS integra and the person had to modify the hood (cut a hole in it) so that the B20b manifold could clear it.

Some of the earlier B20's had those on them I believe, could be back wards on that Honda switched over to the taller giraffe looking intake mani becuase it's design increases over-all torque a bit, but sucks for top-end power. Though it's not like the CRV need top-end power, it's an SUV with a 6500 RPM redline, so more torque is preferable is that situation.

Most people that swap B20's into their cars wind up running LS manifolds........with also suck flo-wise. Stock b20 swap usaully have a nasty flat spot in power between 3500-4500. A "purty" skunk2 mani will fix that right up though

Side Note: Thats a JDM B20B, which is equivilent to the USM B20Z spec sise(slightly higher c/r, than the USDM B20B). The car tha car out of kinda looks like what a 6th gen civic would if they made a wagon version of it. So the intake mani prolly is and LS that is more taliored to that engine bay and not like the typical CRV intake mani's most of us are used to seeing.

*edit* here is a picture
