Default MSD ignition help

i was looking at the MSD 6BTM ignition

MSD 6BTM, PN 6462
Supercharged or turbo engines will benefit from the 6BTM in more ways than one. Not only do the full energy sparks help burn the fuel mixture, it allows the driver to retard the ignition timing based on the amount of boost being produced by the supercharger. The timing is adjusted from a dash
mounted knob and can be retarded 1 - 3° per pound of boost with a maximum of 15°. There is also a built-in adjustable rev control to protect the engine from over-rev damage.

would i need anything else? i have MSD plug wires. do i need a modified distributor cap? blaster? i dont know too much about ignitions. help me out. you can either explain how it works or just give recommendations. should i go with the 6BTM or one of the digitial systems. i'm running 10lbs on an FMAX kit on a stock internal F23 Accord. i need to take some timing away

Your FMAX kit didn't come with one? For some reason I thought the BTM and MF-2 were standard with the FMAX kits.

yes they are. but i bought my kit used and he didnt take off the ignition. the MF2 is what makes an FMAX kit and FMAX kit. i think its the only kit to use it

So you're liking the MF2? Most people seem to hate it because it's hard to tune. I guess that's true with anything that isn't well tuned. Some people hate the AEM EMS because it's hard to get your car started on the crappy basemaps. Others swear by it because of it's tunability, provided you get past the initial hurdles.
