Default Double checking about Valve cover gasket

I'm gonna repaint my valve cover this weekend but wanted to double check if my engine has a gasket that I need to replace or not (I read that some D16s do and others dont). If so I want to have it on hand before I remove the Valve cover.

Its a 94 Civic EX Coupe

Thanks

There's a gasket between the head and the valve cover. It's a good idea to replace it if it's pretty old, but it's not absolutely necessary. As long as it still seals, you'll be fine. You might want to pick up some Honda Bond or Permatex gasket maker to apply to the sharp corners(where it goes over the ends of the cam) of the valvecover gasket to help it seal in those places.
