Default Which Tranny to get?

Right now I have a built LS/VTEC with the old LS tranny in it. It seems like it has tons of power but I'm thinking about getting an S1 a guy has locally he wants to sell.

How bad is my LS tranny and will the power difference be very significant in the 1/4 and road racing, etc.

Short gears own for LSVTEC....YS1 or S1 , it'll be night and day.

Hey... U know how turbo guys like Long-geared trannies cuz they stay in high boost longer? Is it any similar with a Nitrous setup? Oh... about a 125 shot wet? Would I be needing longer gears or still get shorter ones?

... "It has direct port nitrous injection."

(Yea, and a standalone fuel management system...)

Does your standalone system do fuel tables based on nitrous or are you just running w/ standard wet kit fuel?

You wouldn't want gears too short with a short like that... you'd be shifting way too often and be putting a hell of a lot of stress on the trans.

A nice way to spend ten thousand dollars
Do you really have nitrous and a standalone...
Wait, you can't have a standalone, you're getting those codes!
It'll make a diff, but I dunno how huge a difference. How much is the trans?

If you run a Y1, S1 or J1 you need to switch over to a '90-'91 Integra clutch. The '92-'93 clutch only fits in the YS1. If you can find a YS1 out of a '92-'93 GSR, XSi or RSi (jap-spec versions with a B16) that'll have the short gears and obviously work with the '92-'93 clutch.
