Which car came with the H23a? I originally thought it was the newer Preludes (97-01 I think those are the years) but someone at school told me it was wrong. My friend is thinking about buying a Prelude and wants some info on the engine.

 

Slightly older preludes. 1992-1996 Prelude SE/Si.

It is the nonvtec version of the H22, which is the most recent Prelude engine.

 

the h23a came in 97+ JDM Accord SiR Sportier Wagons.
the h23a1 came in 92-96 prelude Si's

 

H23A = DOHC VTEC (200+ hp)
H23A1 = DOHC non-VTEC (160hp)

 

Anyone have the bore x stroke on the JDM h23a? What makes it bigger than the h22? Bigger bore? Bigger stroke? Im looking to get a JDM motor and I'm curious about this

 

longer stroke.
it has 197hp and 163 ft/lbs of torque.
I am sure with a more sport tuned ecu it would make more though...remember it IS coming from a station wagon....

 

yeah i searched around and read that the 2.3 has 87mm x 95mm bore and stroke

h22a has 87.0 mm bore, 90.7 mm stroke

anyone know what the stroke is on the h23a1 non vtec prelude si motor? is it the same? Does the JDM h23 vtec have the same shitty cast crank and rods as the as the 2.3 si or is it forged like the h22
