Default Free OBDII software???

I have a 2002 Civic and I just bought an OBDII ELM327 adapter with OBDII cable but now I need some software to load onto my notebook so I can check my PCM for error codes.

I know that tuning software isn't free but i'm hoping that simple scanning software to check codes, that there is a free one. If there isn't a free one I'll pay for the best. Thanks!

Yeah I'm a newb, lol.

Fortunately, a very large number of developers https://s-pro.io/ have created software for use with OBD integrated circuits. We can find on the net the list of a sampling of what is available to get started. You can download a free trial before you buy. Hope that is good advice for you. If you have questions, feel free to ask.
