Default Removing the dreaded immobilizer...

Does anyone know any places that remove the immobilizer off ecu's other then locashracing.com? or is it at all possible to remove it yourself?

i'm not sure if people have programs for obd2 ecus. what i'm talking about is re chipping with other programs. like the jun or mugen or whomever program. obd2 ecu's from the last time i checked are not chipable. could be wrong.

locashracing claims to have removed the immobilizer from GSR ecu's. I'm not doubting their claim but I don't know anyone who has used the ecu. I heard that locashracing was able to remove the immobilizer from GSR ecu's and I sent them my 98 Prelude P5M ecu to have the immobilizer removed. They were unsucessful. So much for that. Fortunately, the had a JDM P5M without the immobilizer lying around and they gave me a good deal on that for an exhange. Just thought I'd share my immobilizer story with you.

As for reprogramming OBD2 ecu's, I've heard it can be done by other people. However, I don't know anyone who has done it sucessfully. Speed614, if you still need an OBD2 GSR ecu, hit me up on email. I have one from a 98 GSR with no immobilizer. :naughty:

Well im sending it off, ill tell you how it turns out. If they are unable to i guess ill just have to sell the ecu and buy a 96-99 and the OBD2.2->OBD2 convertion harness.
