Default need help now, badly leaking 86 CRX

this is AwwsChwA, my girlfriend logged into the system, and now I can't figure out how to reset my login:doh:

Anyway, my housemate just bought a 86 CRX DX, and it's got a nasty oil leak coming from somewhere. You can see it leaking, there's 4 or 5 distinct oil spots on the ground wherever it's parked, and it leaks while the engine is running.

There's a thick cake of oil all around where the headgasket seal is. There's also oil on EVERYTHING below the car. Oilpan, tranny, linkage, everything. My first guess was rear main seal, but what would cause the whole underside to cover in oil if it was just the rear main seal? Could a bad head gasket cause that much oil leakage? I haven't done a compression test yet, but it doesn't smoke out the tailpipe at all, so I don't think it's burning any substantial amount of coolant or oil. Any help is appreciated, I'll try and have pictures up in a couple days. thanks

oil pressure sending unit? oil filter? valve cover gasket? oil pan gasket?

Oh, and there's a "log out" button at the top-right corner of the window.

Might need to clean the engine to find the leak.
