what year is my motor?

Default what year is my motor?

i got a h22a swap bout to get swap in my civic and i was wondering how can i tell what year it came from or how can i tell if its a obd1 or obd2 any info would be helpful.thanx

Pretty sure the year is stamped where the H22A is stamped into the block, and that should tell you if it came from an OBD1 or OBD2 car.

Has the motor ever been touched? If its a stock swap that you can tell by the simple things injectors, distributor and so forth. I know on B series motors you can check what year the cylinder head is by looking on the front under the valve cover and there are the years stamped. IDK if its the same for an H motor but i dont see why not. If the motor is USDM you can run the vin and it will tell you what year prelude it came out of.
