aftermarket INJECTOR & cam gear Q's for b18b
First of all, I'm bulding a b18b with:
b18b block honed .020 over and decked
srp 10.5:1 .020 over pistons
reconditioned rods
srp rod bolts
the piston pin is floated
block guard
block girdle
knife edged crank
decked, p&p head
b20 valves
crower 404's, crower dual valve springs, and titanium retainers
skunk2 Intake mani
gude tb
aem cai
venom fuel rail
b&m fpr
magnecore 8.5mm plug wires
msd sci-l
....well, what I was wondering is:
whats the diff between Sturated and peak&hold injectors?
which ones should I get?
what size? 310cc? 340cc?
What cam gears?
STR? Skunk2? DC?
Thanks!

Saturated injectors are high-impedance(8-10 ohm resistance), peak-and-hold are low impedance(~2 ohm resistance). If your car came with saturated injectors(which is should if you have a B18B), then it'd be easier to swap in another set of saturated injectors. However, peak-and-hold injectors are more common in larger sizes, and are usually a bit cheaper than saturated injectors. If you want to run p/h injectors on a car that came with saturated injectors, you would need to either wire in a resistor pack(like from a p/h Honda), or wire 7-8 ohm resistors inline with the injector harnesses. You would also need to get the appropriate injector clips. If you're going to be running a stock ECM, 310cc is the highest you can go without using a piggyback fuel controller or a standalone ECM. Also, make sure that your block girdle is being put in the right way, IE with dowels. Otherwise, if you just simply bolt it on, you'll be doing more harm than good. As for cam gears, the Skunks would b e the best of the three you listed because they have 6 locking bolts. Otherwise, Toda, JUN, and Spoon gears are good because they're made out of steel like the stock gears and will not be as prone to slipping or stripping out like alluminum gears would.
