Default tranny questions..... anyone?

My B18B1 has the 4 spd auto in it, I am looking for a shift kit for it, a kit such as one you can put into an older GM tranny inside of the trans changing rate of flow of fluids etc. I am looking to make the shifts more firmer and stronger. Another thing I am looking for is a shop to pull the torque converter apart and change the fins in it, basically making it into a stall converter. The reason why i want to use an auto trans is that it would be different than what other people are doing around here with their Honda's and Acura's. I know this is a Honda/Acura forum and I imply no offense mentioning GM parts in here but I am using it as an example to maybe point someone in the right direction that knows about imports more than I do. I want to do something out of the ordinary with my ride. Any information leading me in the right direction for the shift kit would be helpful...thanks

Default Anyone?????

AT's must be frowned upon around here i guess but from what i hear the best drag racers utilize AT's. Theres a Skyline that runs 8's in a quarter mile and he uses an AT.

i thought these forums are to help people out with their issues and maybe give some info on how things are done and where to get them right? i want to use an AT cause i know i can take a MT on the track based on i dont have to worry about lost times between shifts.....the average margin a AT has over a MT on the drag is 1 second and when you are racing....each second counts right? i understand where u are coming from but i want to have a different ride than everyone else

I have never heard of an automatic shift kit for a Honda.........Honda Auto transmissions are weak and are built for gas mileage

i am sure i can get the trans pulled apart and changed if they make torque converters in a trans shop they should know how to put together a shift kit for it all its doing is changing springs and rate of flow of the fluids...btw what part of those AT are the weakest? give me some ideas so if i do find a shop i can get that point stronger

They are super super tiny, overall just weaker compared to your "domestic" tranny's.....If any engine could have negative torque it would be a honda engine, its sick, ranges from about 95-145ft lbs....(civic-preludes)...so there was reallly no use in creating a transmission to handle all that torque if its not necessary.........and to even get that much torque out of the engine you have to rev the shit out of it 5-6k plus......

What is your project? arent going to get much out of a B18 unless you are planning on boosting
