Coolant in cylinders
hey all..i have a built gsr turbo...430 to the wheels 300tq on 14 psi..annnnd i have a problem. i have water in my cylinders. sometimes. the car runs awesome. like...perfect. but, after i drive it for ahwile, and say i stop to get gas...i go to crank it back up and sometimes ill have water in the cylinders. its only when the cooling system is pressurized..duh. it will dump out white smoke that smells of coolant and sound like a damn subaru for a min, then it will clear up.. i just sent the head off and got it inspected and resurfaced, because it was .008" off above cyl #2 and coolant was seeping in the cylinder that way. so i got that fixed, and while it was ripped apart i checked everything, no cracked sleeves, everything was fine.. i have arp studs which i re-used..idk if that was a good idea or not, but it was only the second time installing them. i installed a brand new cometic hg..keep in mind this is 2 weeks ago and ive barely driven the car since because some welds cracked on my sls top mount... the block was also decked, so i know it isnt warped. im running a block guard, and i dont really know much about that..i know the block guard around #4 is nearly flush with the top of the block, and i think that may have something to do with my problem..but i still dont see why it would let coolant into the cylinder...i need to have a compression test done, but the HG is brand new and i really dont think thats the problem..i just want to know if this has happened to anyone else..ive smelled the coolant in the radiator..doesnt smell of exhaust, the catch tank doesnt have bubbles...no milky residue in the valve cover...its just weird...
I doubt the intake manifold itself has any problems but on some Hondas there is a coolant line going to the throttle body(fir fast idle and the like). This may be where it is coming in. Check for white residue on the IM
i just saw a wierd thin happen the other day. my bud just lightly i mean lightly cleaned the ports on his gsr head and opened up a water jacket. he was using a dril with the sand paper rolls and just cleaning it up. its a thought.
