Default 86 Civic engine swap

I want to swap a bigger engine into my 86 Civic DX hatchback. What size engine will fit? what model would the donor car be? Has anyone done this? How hard will this be to do? Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance!!

Is your car even fuel injected?

i'd try and find a parts integra, an 86 or 87 if your car is fuel injected, and an 86 - 89 if it isn't. that motor has 120 horse, and much tighter tranny. Its the most powerful motor that'll bolt straight in which you could find for cheap. I've got an 86 crx and I'm going to pick up an 88 Integra later this week (hopefully)
