Default takin out the ac fo the winter

i wanna remove my ac for the winter...just wondering if there's anything special i need to know or any tips for draining the freeon or anything. also, what do i need to look out NOT to do (to avoid destroying my engine). i know my way around the engine bay pretty well, jus never takin out an ac b4. thanks.

I'm not really sure what the "proper" way to bleed freon is, but I just used to a screwdriver to depress the low pressure nipple
Other than that, it's pretty straightforward. The only thing that might be kida tricky is the tensioner. You need to loosen the bolt in the middle of the tensioner pulley before you can loosen the adjusting bolt to get the AC belt off.

i dunno how good an idea it is to drain it.
why not jsut get a shorter belt and bypass the compressor instead?

really just out of boredom...i have too much time to work on my car and not enough money.also, i'm doing a swap fairly soon, so i might as well take it out now.
