Default Some money to spend..

I sold my parts car for 1000 bucks, and im looking to spend some money on my car.. I have a 93 integra with 240xxx K/M on it. Now the stock b18 runs strong, but I'm not too sure a motor with that many kms can handle boost.. So I was playing with the idea of a B20b swap with boost, and I was a bit concerned on how that motor will handle boost.. What would you guys suggest? Here are some options I am considering:

B18 LS/VTEC - Using my existing bottom end with a b16 or b18c vtec head.
B18 - Put some minor work on the head, and run 8-10 psi boost.
B20 - Either boost or vtec, not sure yet. I heard that there are piston to valve clearance issues.. Plus the b20 has weak cylinder sleeves, which is a concern for boost.

I can get a turbo for cheap and piping will all be custom. Just dont know enough to make up my mind . Any help will be great. Thanks guys!!

$1000 doesnt get you much. spend that on maintanence stuff first.

The car is mint and doesnt need any maintenence. Just looking for some more power with the money I have laying around.. Is a ls/vtec worth it?? Any ideas will be great. Im not looking at a 400whp car, just some extra ponies from the stock b18.

a car with 240xxx km on the engine doesnt need maintenance? if you say so.

anyway, you still wont be able to get something that will give you any noticeable power, unless you want to try nitrous. i suggest you work on the suspension first. it'll make a much more noticeable difference than any bolt on's.

Yes my car doesnt need anything besides new brakes, which are going to be installed when the car is off the road for the winter. The car has always been winter stored and very well maintained by me and my mechanic. As far as suspension goes, it has Koni yellows and Skunk2 2.5" springs. Everything that I want to do cosmetically is done. Just the engine needs to get the work now. The car is flawless and I take it to alot of shows in the area.
I just dont know a whole lot about Honda engines so thats why I started this post. I think that I'm just going to buy a B20B for this year and maybe next look into boost or B20 Vtec.

Well your best bet is just drop you b18 out of the car and have it freshened up for more power ls/vtec is the way to go but it is not really all that cheap but you can do it by getting some b16 pistons and rings some arp bolts for your rods and have your block machined (honed and such) And put it all back together that is the very simple jist of it but there is a lot involved. But you can do this for relatively cheap if you are good friends with a guy that can help you put it together. On a simple ls/vtec setup i have seen many people run 200hp easy as a daily driver. The b20/vtec setups from what i hear have alot of problems especially under boost due to there thin cylinder walls and there is no oem 84mm pistons that have big enough valve reliefs for the vtec head you have no choice but the after market and that is where you spend serious cash. SO just do some searching on building an ls/vtec and see if it is in your range.
