Valve adjustment gone wrong for B18a ?

Default Valve adjustment gone wrong for B18a ?

I tried adjusting my valves on my B18a. Started my car and now it just putt putts. what do I do?

Did you do it when it was cold?

I would leave it at least three hours before doing the tappets.

What clearances did you set them to?

If my memory serves me correctly, its 006 for the intake, and 008 for the exhaust.

Also, whilst the cam cover is off next check the LMA's.

no lmas in a non vtec engine. if it putts and putts probaly a little to tight .
and that sounds right for lash.

yea, my friend had the same problem when he did his, i readjusted them for him and it cleared the condition up

I have encountered drivability issues because someone adjusted the valves but, even though they had the crank pully mark on tdc, the cam was not on cylinder number 1. I have also encountered issues due to misinterperetation of the underhood lable, mixing up milimeteres with inches.
