Default tearing down engine block

how difficult is it to replace pistons? are there any special tools needed to push out the pistons?

any inputs would be appreciated.

Taking them out is the easy part! when you pull the main caps off pull the crank up with the rods still attached and it shouldn't be an easy! no special tools required. Putting the pistons back in is a different story, you need a ring compressor and the ring gaps have to be in a specific placement when pistons are put into the block!
