Default oil pan.....cleaning.....

has anyone ever tried or heard of setting a oil pan on fire to clean it????? someone told me they put a lil gasoline inside it and around it and throw a match inside and let it burn...says its the best way to clean all the shit inside of it out... can anyone say this is true or ludacris?

Never heard of that one, but I don't see how it could hurt anything. It could be worth a try.

that's ridiculous.

You don't use fire for cleaning, end of story.

Buy 2 cans of carburetor cleaner and a few rags, or paper towels and you'll be golden.

yup i cleaned mine with a can of engine degreaser and lots of soapy hott water. done deal came out sparkly

if its a steel pan, make sure you spray it up with a can of wd-40 AFTER your done cleaning to prevent any rust from forming on the inside.
