Default Engine crankshaft

Hi guys,

I wanted to check with u guys something.
If an example, my engine crankshaft n engine bearings had been damage b4 but will the problems arise even after i had change the re-con crankshaft n new bearings as well?

Do u guys recommend me to change another engine instead repairing by replacing it?
Is there any performance increase by using B20 crank on B18C?

Thank u for the all of u guys...

I would not recommend using a resurfaced Honda crankshaft. If a bearing failure occurred once, it will more than likely happen again. Its also hard to find oversize/undersize bearings that will fit properly. Used crankshafts can be had for under $100 in perfect condition.

I believe the B20 & B18 A/B crankshafts are the same (slightly larger than a b18c). The B20 has larger cylinders to gain displacement.

In order to use an LS crank, you also need LS rods in conjunction with vtec pistons. This will give you a longer stroke and a gain in torque & horsepower.

Its probably cheaper for you to rebuild your current engine, just look for a used crankshaft. If you have any plans for modding, now is the time. Good luck!
