what surprises me is your friend spent the money on good rods and pistons but cheaped out on the turbo kit.

cheap, fast, reliable. pick two.
i pick 3 cheap'ish, fast'ish, reliable what i mean by cheap'ish is i will buy the parts that i will need, but if the standard part will do, the standard part it is.

And by fast'ish i mean anythin over 250whp in a civic is fast enough for the roads where i live. Thats why i dont want any more than 350whp.

So im hoping to buy:

1. turbo kit
2. fuel pump
3. injectors
4. All gauges and hoses
5. A day tuning

Or is there more to it?

The reason why i am asking is that my mate has just turboed his b16 and he has put je pistons and eagle roads in with a t03/04e with a ssac kit and he took me for a spin. And now i want to turbo im just tryin to do it the cheap'ish way (but want it to stay reliable) im just tryin to get my head arround that the b18 can take 300whp standard no matter wat psi i run.
I new u'd want boost

Though i must say, i'm confused as to why people arent pleased with the XS power kit i have......I now know three people using these kits, and none have had a problem.

I think it depends on the exact kit you have, i have read that the quality of the earlier kits were nowhere near as good.

the quality of those kits is hit or miss. sometimes you get lucky and the parts wont go to shit for a few thousand miles.

Granted every motor is different and it comes down to tuning...

I made 290/205 on 7 psi. 440cc injectors, log manifold, 3" turbo back exhaust.
