ok..heres the issue...when driving along on the freeway in my friends civic when he rolls into the throttle in 4th or 5th gear...and hits vtec...its really laggy, but when hes racing its not as bad, the other gears when he hits vtec it screams and pulls really hard hes got a b16a3, ITR tranny, spoon cams, adj cam gears, i/h/e, the cams are at 3deg advance on intake, and 1 deg. retard on exhaust, FPR is set at 40lbs under load due to being at 5600 ft above sea level it needed to be leaned out...any suggestions would be greatly apprecieated

 

JDM final drive, or ATS final drive. The gears will be shorter throughout the tranny, but 5th gear isn't for racing anyways.
