for a general tune-up? Depends on how many miles you have on it. The standard things to replace are spark plugs and plug wires (if the wires are original and you have 50,000+ miles), fuel filter, and possibly the distributor cap/rotor, if they need replacing. Also, check for cracking fluid hoses and such.

Adjusting the valves is a good idea as well. Should be done every 15,000 miles or so. Oil change, possibly the air filter, and maybe give the vacuum systems a once-over, make sure all the hoses are in good shape.

any time, my friend

oh, and in regard to the air filter. You've probably heard of the K&N air filters. If you can afford it, buy one. They're the best 50 bucks you can spend on a single part for your car. You'll get better mileage, a small but noticable gain in performance, and they're washable. Never replace a filter again

It's fine, still running. I got a spare block in case something breaks. Or, I might just build it, swap it in and run more boost. Money is the limiting factor, of course.
