Default quick question about d16y7 and z6

is the d16y7 block the same as the d16z6 block? reason im asking is i was considering buying a z6 head (vtec) and having it ported and polished. then building the head. then building my stock block and putting the z6 head on it. would that be a good move? im not wanting to swap in a different motor because ive had past experience with the single cam turbo and i was happy. any help would be great. looking to order the head asap if it will be wise

I know that they're not the same because the Y7 is a nonVTEC block and the Z6 is a VTEC block. Search for minime and you'll probably get more info. This falls into the same realm as something like a LS/VTEC because you're going with a nonVTEC block and a VTEC head. This is 'officially' called a minime.
