Default Injectors

ok..i just got off the phone with a guy talkin about buildin my new motor. I was askin him what size injectors to run on my b20vtec/turbo build..im shootin for 575-600hp..im gonna be running 9:1 compression yada yada...anyway, he says for me to run 450cc injectors. Ive searched on this topic and read everything, but im not pleased unless i have responses on my actual setup...he said since im not runnin too gigh c/r ratio, that they would be fine. but then u know everytime u see a 600hp b series in a mag or on the internet and read the specs..they have like 1000cc's and 1200cc's ...im F'n lost. So please, help a noob out.

You sound like you're trying to be really smart about building your engine, so don't just base your decision on what other people run. Here's a link to a site with the actual equation to figure out just how many cc's you will need. I know it's a pain in the ass to work all up, but in the long run you will know that your injectors are the proper size.

You are going to need 1000cc injectors if not more with that kind of power. If you have the injector driver to control them, go larger to ensure you have plenty of fuel.

Agreed! I laughed out loud when I saw 450's. :lmao:

I was making almost 460 whp in my boosted B18C1 at ~23 psi and was runnning RC 660's comfortably. I'd say you'd do well with 1000cc's. Some Precisions should do you nicely. I'd actually be really worried if this guy's actually building you motor and giving you that kind of advice. Makes you wonder what else he's told you. I hope you're not running Eagle rods and SRP pistons... you're going to have a very rude awakening if you're trying to make 600 hp on those.

Also, the lower the compression ratio, the more fuel you will need. I was at 9.5:1 on my setup.

hih

For that kind of power, I'd recommend something like Crower or Pauter rods. I ran Pauter. You can see my block/components here: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=142746. Final setup when it was sold making 457 whp / 379 wtq: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=195592.

At 9:1 and 600 hp, you will need MUCH more than 450's. I was running 550's making 380 whp pushing them to 100% duty cycle at 7k RPMs on about 16-18 psi on a Garrett T3/T04E 57 trim 60 A/R turbo. You WILL need 1000's if you plan to make that kind of power and expand even a little. It wil be tough to tune at idle, but you can't get around it.

I hope you're sleeving it, too. With the right tune, you might not need them, but I wouldn't risk it. JE's might work for you. They're not 'awesome' pistons. I'd go with something more like ROSS, CP, or Arias. jmo

so at least 1000's...thats what i thought....and yes im re-sleeving my b20 block..duh..its a b20 lol...will the s200 work for a turbo application ? and since those are such huge injectors..it'll just run really rich at idle and theres nothin i can do about it right
