swap in a b18c1. decently quick with bolt on's. takes to boost very well. plenty of aftermarket. not too expensive for the swap.

i would say the same thing also just go B18c1 and turbo it...But if you want NA power go for k series...

the d16y8 is the best d series you could spend less than 5 and have that boosted and completely rebuilt and it will run as a great daily driver if you wanna do a swap let me know because i was going to do a b16 swap in my car and have alot of extras with it pistons dc headers stage 3 axles etc and the swap tranny and everything that i am getting rid of because i have decided to just completely build my d16y8 email me at adva7328@yahoo.com if you want more info on the swap or whatever
