Default ls problems

I'm having problems with a ls swap into an eg. The rev limit cuts at 5500 rpm and not 6800. The ecu is right and the motor pulls strong, but the rev limit is cut short? What is the problem and how do you fix that? It would be a lot of help if someone knows what and how. Thanks!

I have tried a different ecu...as a matter of fact, I threw in a gsr ecu and it fuel cut at approximately 6500 rpm....so I don't think it's the ecu..any other suggestions?
