Default 92 Honda Civic HB

I currently started rebuilding my engine. I have a D15B8 engine. Found out it is very weak and won't get much more power out of it unless I put 16 heads on. I want to find an engine with power. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should drop in it and be able to pass smog. What ECU or wiring do I need? Do I also need to change tranny?

Thanks Snoopy. I already know the different types, well at least a few of them. Which ones give me the best bang for the buck and will pass smog. Passing smog is the biggest deal for me right now.
