Default shifter moves too much when in

I have just completed a motor swap (B16 ODB0) in my 1990 CRX......... It's alive! But I'm having issues w/ my shift linkage (Hassport). When I'm in gear it slides from side to side like it was in neutral. Neutral does this too but it I know it shouldn't do this when in gear. Now the tranny isn't slipping and it's not slipping out of gear. What could be causing this?

A bad bushing in the linkage or loose connections in the linkage. I imagine it could also be from within the tranny too, but let's not worry about that yet. I'd be sure that the linkage is bolted tightly to the car at the shifter, that the shifter is bolted tightly (but not too tightly) to the linkage, and that the bushing where the linkage bolts to the car is also in good shape - I'd recommend polyurithane if you're not already using that.

Congrats on the swap.
