Default '93 del sol si B16 or B18 swap.

I have a '93 Del Sol SI with a D16z6 in it. I really like the engine and as of now has 189,000 miles on it. Im pretty sure i'm going to swap it soon as it needs a new timing belt and I want a few extra horsies.

Now I have read up a bit on the B16A and the B18C(GSR) and they both look like pretty well suited canidates for the Sol.
My '93 is a 5 speed manual, and I was wondering if when I buy either the B16 or the B18 if I need to replace the tranny or if I can keep my stocker. I read around here that both are direct bolt in and so im guessing I wouldnt have to.
Also, my decision between the 2 motors is determined by how much money I have on hand when I pull out the D16.
If anyone has any info/help/opinion about the swap, I would be pleased to hear it.
Thanks in advance!

-Andrew

no, you need the tranny that comes with the engine. your stocker will not work. keep saving for the b18c1, it'll be well worth it. and buy from a reputable company like www.hmotorsonline.com

go with b18c (gsr), a buddy of mine had it in his del sol and the thing pulls like crazy, he could keep up with a truboed Si, up to 80-90, save money and buy that b18 and eat b16s for lunch

ok thanks for the help so far.
Im pretty sure im gonna go with the b18c.
And all of this will fit the same as in a '95?
Im lookin at a '95 right now soo...
I would need -

GSR Complete Engine
GSR Tranny
GSR ECU

is this correct or will the swap require more than these items.
Thanks again for the help!

ok soo how much would the linkage cost me?
Where can I purchase it?
I want to buy the B18C1 Engine,Tranny, and ECU from hmotors and thats like 2740, and so all I would need to finish the swap is the linkage?
Dont need the gsr axles right?
Thanks!
