I assume we are talking about the hydro 94+ GS-R trans, because the cable 92-93 GS-R version YS1 is geared closer then all B16A* transaxles.

A friend of mine swapped out his 5th gear on his Y21 (B16) keeping the closer ratio 1-4 which helps acceleration and makes it more tolerable on the highway. It also raised his top speed. He only drops it into 5th when hes on the highway.

Yeah, I was...considering how rare a cable GSR tranny is.

i personaly think the ls would be better for turbo cars

i have an itr tranny on my turbo gsr, and i love it, i like it better then my previous GSR tranny...

that is too general to say "turbo car's do better with a certain tranny" for most application's a gsr tranny will be just fine, but it also depends on your turbo if you have a big mother fawking turbo that dosen't open up tilll about 6 grand then yes longer gears would be great choice, but if you have a smaller turbo that will open up at about 3700 rpms an ITR tranny will be just fine... so its all relative to the set up

What is your reasoning for this statement? Don't tell me "so you can stay in boost longer". That is the biggest pile of shit false information out there.

Do you have any experience to base this opinion on? 1/4 slips between the two, etc, etc?
