why is my engine skipping?

Default why is my engine skipping?

i have a 1991 prelude 2.0si i just put new plugs, wires, cap,and rotor on. i also had a can(muffler) put on at the same time and now the car skips after it warms up a little bit. What is wrong? aby suggestions?

It's because can mufflers suck. Either that or you might want to check your TPS and ECU, one of those were the fix when mine was doing that. To be perfectly honest, though, I'm not sure which.

Make sure you routed all the plug wires to the correct cylinders and the right spot on the distributor. Also check the distributor to make sure you put everything back in the correct position ... if not, the car will be out of time. Get a timing light and make sure the base timing is set to spec.

by skipping i mean when you hit the gas it feels like im running on 2 cylinders. All my wires and everything are run correctly and the timing is fine. i have a silencer for the can wich quites it down to where it used to be and with the size oof the pipe(silencer installed) it should be close to the same backpressure as it used to have but that does nothing for the skip.
