Default SOHC to DOHC

I have a D17A2 in a '01 civic ex, and was wondering if it is possible to do SOHC to DOHC swap? If so what would need to be done, is it worth it etc etc. Thanks

No, not a whole engine swap, I was just wondering what (if possible) i would need to do to convert the current D17 block from SOHC to DOHC.

so you just want the DOHC block with your stock SOHC head?

that is not possible. you'd need an entire DOHC engine.

Well actually i wanted to keep the block and swap in a DOHC head, but i've been told that it won't work (obviously it is a larger head) but i didn't know if there was some type of possible conversion to make the head fit...

you can not put a DOHC head of any kind on a D series block...the water passages dont match, nor do any of oil passages...this is not possible...why do you think they have different blocks...and engine designations...but if your willing to spend the excess time..and effort to engineer something...its always possible..just cheaper...and less frustrating to swap the engine:thumbup:

and besides, wouldnt it be a lot cheaper/easier just to buy a whole engine like a b16a2 and put it in?
