Default Performance muffler with low noise?

I am getting really tired of this loud noise from my muffler. I can be going 5 mph and it sounds like I'm blasting off to space! A silencer helps a bit but whats the point of having a performance muffler if your going to cap it off...

I am looking for a good performing muffler that wont attract the cops. I care 60% about the noise, and 40% about the performance. I don't want to go back to stock, but if it can be as quiet as stock, with better performance then please let me know. Anyone know of any brands that has low DB but still performs well?

Also... just wondering if anyone heard of the twin looped mufflers?

The best performing and quietest exhaust systems are typically custom built. You can get 2.5" piping (stainless, aluminized, etc.) and match it up with a resonator and muffler. The larger the resonator, the less the noise. I built an exhaust for my old car with pipe from www.kteller.com and a Magnaflow 18" resonator and a Magnaflow 5x8 muffler. Everything was 2.5" and very quiet. The car sounded stock at idle, had a nice low non-droning tone while cruising, and screamed at WOT.

I run an Apexi WS2 catback and I love it. It flows great and you can hardly hear it unless you really get on it. I can hear my intake over my exhaust. Highly recommended.

I have a brand new 2.5" Magnaflow oval muffler for sale if you are interested. It looks better than stock and will quiet things down for you while still performing like your loud one.

I do have an aftermarket stainless steal exhaust 2.5 inch piping, the resonator is bigger then stock... I am really interested in the twin looped mufflers. Have anyone tried it or have it on?
