What can I salvage from the K20A2 engine and put in the K20A3 engine(base mod. RSX) since the base is 5spd and type-s is 6spd?

 

the whole thing is swappable. you will have to modify the shifter linkage to accomidate the 6th gear.

 

Is that worth doing. The k20a2 engine has at least one dropped valve. I was thinking I could either take the parts from the k20a2 and put them on the k20a3 but if modifying the shift linkage is not that bad then I could take the parts from the k20a3 and repair the k20a2. Which would be the best bet?

 

if you have a k20a3 that your getting parts from..why not just..DROP THe WHOLE THING IN..lol screw mixing and matching..just drop the whole engine if its avail to you. if not..they are the same basic engine...plug and pray my friend

 

What about the sixth gear issue. What do i need to do with the sixth gear. I know nothing about tranmissions.
