Default Vtec Hesitation

hi guys, i need some help here...i placed a stage 2 skunk2 cams with skunk2 valve springs, skunk2 retainers and skunk2 racing valves...now my problem is my vtec hesitates when it engages at 5,500 rpm until 6000rpm. i already bought a new vtec solenoid and new fuel pressure regulator but the problem keeps going on. i have used a spoon ecu but still when the vtec engages at 4,800 rpm it hesitates until 6000rpm with the spoon ecu when i use the stock ecu it also hesitates until 6000rpm. do you know what seems to be the problem? have anyone encountered that prob? thanx!

You have to tune it. Cams that large engaging at close to stock vtec engagement is obviously going to bog. The vtec needs to be at least shifted back at least to 5200-5600 rpm. Look into a VAFC and some dyno time to get the fuel maps and vtec engagement correct.

I have just about the same head on my B18c1 and it was the crossover point, go on ericksracing.com or give them a call they (# on web site)will take care of you. They are quick and efficent. I asked the same question not to long ago. The other problem could be your dizzy, It may not have enough out put for crossover, test it and let us know.
