Hi I have a tech question. I have 98 civic ex with a d16y8 and I’m going to put a b18c5 in it witch I bought from a friend. The engine only came with trany and axels. I have the original harness and ecu to the 98 civic witches I was told that I can use, I am not sure. Do you know what harness I can use that is compatible to the type-r and will work with my ecu or buy a conversion harness to make every thing work correctly? because I am having trouble tying to find a harness to the type-r. I was also told that I can use a 99-00 si harness and ecu but I would have some problems. Is that write? What do I do?

 

You can just use the harness that's are already in your car. You may have to add/extend a few wires, but it is basically plug and play. You already have VTEC, so that is one thing you won't have to worry about. As for the ecu, your car is obd2a. If your are staying obd2a, then get an ecu from a 96-99 Integra....that with plug right into your stock harness without the need of any conversion harness.
