SUPERCHARGER!! Help me pick one, etc
HELLL yeah... going to get a supercharger for my 1995 Honda Civic DX. :irock:
I'm moving to Germany, so I need to be able to accelerate onto the Autobahn with a quickness.
WHICH company or websites should I use? Anybody have any success stories with their superchargers? I wanted this instead of a turbo (for the better lower end power and the oil thing).
Also, any other secondary upgrades to compliment or accomodate this huge power upgrade? (ie ECU, harder suspension, I don't know..)

ok, having second thoughts on the supercharger... I might settle for getting DC Sports 4-2-1 headers and other things. Will this be a good upgrade considering what i have so far? (I have 119,000 miles on my car already, and 2400 dollars is a lot to spend for an old car).

In my opinion I'm not a huge fan of superchargers like Comptech or Jackson Racing's units. Superchargers, unless a centrifigual unit or having high compression (a la S2000) doesn't put out a whole lot of power on a small displacement engine. You can only force so much air into 1600cc's of space before exhaust flow becomes an issue.
Large displacement engines (say musclecars) benefit because of the huge amount of air the engine can hold. Atmospheric pressure is 14.7psi and with a blower you allow even more air pressure in.
If you're going to do forced induction, I'd definately look into doing a turbocharger setup.
